How to Identify Slots in Dialog Engine

Slot

In English, the word slot means “a narrow opening” and has specific grammatical functions. It can fit any morpheme sequence, making it the most widely used affix for an adjective. Its etymology is closely related to the verb “sleutetana,” which means “to receive” in German. In aviation, a slot allows an aircraft to fly closer to its target and increases airflow.

To make winning combinations, players can either use coins or paper tickets with barcodes. The symbols are displayed on the machine’s face, and when they line up, the player is credited with a payout. Some symbols, such as bells, can represent several other symbols. The payouts on a slot machine are determined by the number of lines played and their probability of triggering a bonus feature. However, the more lines a player activates, the better the overall odds of winning.

In order to use the Dialog Engine to identify multiple words and phrases, an utterance can include a single slot or several. For example, a value like “New York” may have synonyms such as “Big Apple” or “NYC.” Selecting Allow Synonyms allows the bot to map these utterances to their respective entity types. In addition, there is a field called “Enter synonym” located next to the slot type value. Hover over the placeholder to select it and click “X” to delete it.

Depending on the offensive scheme, the slot receiver can line up on either side of the field. There can be as many as three of these players on the field at any given time. They can also be mixed between the two sides. Multiple slot receivers are often referred to as Outside Slot or Inside Slot. Likewise, the slot cornerback is sometimes called a nickel cornerback. The nickel, as in 5 cents, is the extra defensive back used to cover a slot receiver.
