The game of Poker involves betting with cards from one’s hand. Players attempt to win the pot by having the best possible hand. A high hand in the game of Poker consists of at least five cards, and it must be better than the other players’ hands. A high hand wins half of the pot, while a low hand has at least five cards below eight. In low-ball, the low hand must be ranked between four and five, using the A-to-5 lowball rankings. Straights do not count against low-hands.

The next step in poker involves raising the bet. When you raise, you will add more money to the betting pool. When another player raises, you may call them, or fold your hand. The other players will then go around in a circle. If they raise your bet, you can either “call” their bet or “fold” to receive the winnings.
